The area of interest is located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the northeast of Italy. After an analysis of the infrastructures linking the lagoon landscape with the main nodes, a project on the Latisana-Lignano sabbiadoro axis was proposed.
This, after crossing the River Tagliamento with the Veneto region, is the first connecting branch of the motorway with the lagoon.
The axis is characterized by its historical character of besieging small urban centers located near the landscaping of the river cut. However, it is a fast, dangerous, and neglected road.
The project popes a slowdown of the road with landscaping interventions aimed at enhancing the present economies and attraction points. Lignano Sabbiadoro is one of the major tourist centers during the summer season. It is therefore proposed to intervene on the road that in its 30 minutes of travel would allow a conscience of the characteristics of the territory, with points of interchange with the gentle mobility, pedestrian, cycling, On horseback. They would move streams from the road to the scenic landscape through reported circuits that network existing points of interest.
